EDC Board Elections I want to start by thanking Janice Mrkonjic for being our Board President for the last year. Her thoughtful guidance and leadership have been a wonderful part of our board for the last year, and I look forward to continuing to work with her as our Past President. Every trade mission, FAM Tour, and business supported is because of our members and sponsors.   With July 1st coming up, it's the beginning of our new fiscal year, and I know that is true for others as well. I also know that some of you have more flexibility in spending dollars on memberships, sponsorships, or advertising but not necessarily all of those. That is why we are rolling out updated sponsorship opportunities. If you are not able to bump up your membership this year, but have dollars to sponsor events, or dollars to advertise your business, there's a level for you. TEDx Temecula Once a year, TEDx Temecula brings together the valley's brightest thinkers, performers, and visionaries for a one-day conference to explore what's possible in our community and beyond.  If you haven't had a chance to attend TEDx Temecula before, you have another opportunity coming up on September 26th.  There are also opportunities to sponsor this amazing community event. Please visit tedxtemecula.com or email [email protected] to learn more.    CSUSM Small Business Academy  EDC CEO Connie Stopher was proud to volunteer with the CSUSM Small Business Academy (SBA). The SBA is a week-long camp for high school students interested in starting their own business.  It featured sessions with CSUSM faculty, CSUSM students, local founders/entrepreneurs, and small businesses.  This summer, CSUSM hosted an SBA specifically for about 30 high school students from Temecula Valley USD.   The skills, knowledge, and business ideas that these local high school students demonstrated were truly remarkable and inspiring.  Thank you to TVUSD and CSUSM for putting on this summer program!
