The EDC is Growing
Last year we were excited to welcome Leah Slyne as our first Marketing Specialist at the EDC. While that position was part-time, Leah managed to enhance our presence on social media and spread the word about the work we do here at the EDC.

A year later, we are excited to announce that our marketing position is now full-time. With that change, Leah has decided to go back to school to study graphic design. We'd like to thank her for all of her work and wish her the best of luck in her new endeavors. Please join me in thanking Leah for her contributions to the EDC and the region!

With Leah's departure, we now get to welcome our new Marketing Specialist, Deana Cacus. Deana has a professional background in writing and marketing and is a native Southern Californian. She has a keen eye for marketing strategy and we are excited to welcome her to the EDC. If you are joining us at our next Board Meeting, please be sure to introduce yourself and give Deana a warm welcome.

If you need to reach Deana for website content or member announcements, please email her at [email protected].
CALED Award
We are excited to share that EDC has won a CALED award for our commuter workforce campaign, and this is only the beginning! We are actively working with the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce on expanding this program to assist even more of our local employers.

If you are a local employer with open job postings, please check our SoCal Jobs page to ensure you are reaching as many local job seekers as possible!

To see the other CALED award winners, please visit the CALED page.
Mayor’s Tech Idea Exchange
On April 16th, we hosted our Mayor’s Tech Idea Exchange in partnership with the City of Menifee Economic Development team. We’d like to thank our city representatives and guest speakers Major Bill Zimmerman, Mayor Pro Tem Dean Deines, Kayla Charters, Ron Puccinelli, Jackie Scott, Doug Kollmyer, and Jay Goth.

This year's Tech Idea Exchange was our largest yet. Thank you to our partners at the City of Menifee and our guest presenters for the valuable resources that were shared with our growing tech community.

If you’re interested in being a catalyst for innovation in the region, join us for our next TECHSouthwest meeting on May 14th at 3:30. You can register here: TECHSouthwest.
Calling all Employers!

The EDC has been working with local manufacturers and Valerie Backus of Murrieta Valley Unified School District to expand internship opportunities in the region for employers and students.

Our SoCal jobs page now features Student Internships. If your business is interested in creating an internship program, please fill out the Employer Submission Form.
Please submit your application by May 10th.

These internship opportunities will be open to all students in the region and are a great opportunity for students to learn about the amazing career options that are available.

Site Selectors Guild
At the beginning of the month, our Executive Director Connie Stopher CEcD represented the EDC and the region at the Site Selectors Guild’s Annual Conference in Nashville, Tennessee. Site Selectors Guild continues to be a valuable resource for our organization as it provides opportunities to meet with our network, learn from industry experts from across the world, and ensure that our region is top of mind when project opportunities arise.
Thrive
Our next Thrive meeting will be on May 21st from 3 to 5 pm at the TVE2 building and on Zoom. We will be reviewing the draft project proposals for the region. We want this meeting to be as accessible as possible, so if you need assistance with transport or childcare, please email us at [email protected] as support is available.
May Board Meeting
Our next board meeting will be on May 2nd, 2024 at 9 am. Our guest speaker will be Chris Gray from the Western Riverside Council Of Governments.
New Member Announcement
We are pleased to announce our newest member, Emerald Escrow! It is through our membership that we are able to serve the region and we are thankful for each and every one of you!
